A walk-in door opens dozens of times a shift, so its gasket wears faster than most. When it splits or flattens, cold air spills out along the floor, freezer doors ice up at the edges, and the system has to run longer to hold temperature.

Measuring a walk-in door gasket
- Measure the old gasket corner to corner, outside edge to outside edge, to the nearest 1/8 inch.
- Check the bottom of the door. Many walk-in doors use a three-sided gasket with a separate sweep along the bottom; others are sealed on all four sides.
- Check how it mounts. Heavy walk-in doors often use a bolt-on gasket held by a metal retainer and screws.
- Note the model and serial number from the unit’s data label. The manufacturer can match them to a gasket part number.
Cooler or freezer?
The gasket is only part of the seal. Walk-in freezer doors usually have a heater in the frame that stops the gasket freezing to it. If a freezer gasket keeps tearing, have the frame heater checked before fitting another one.

How often should a walk-in door gasket be replaced?
There is no fixed schedule. Check it whenever you clean the door, and replace it once it is split, flattened or no longer sealing along its full length.
Is shipping free on long gaskets?
Yes. Standard shipping is free on orders to U.S. addresses unless checkout says otherwise, whatever the gasket size.
Who should fit a bolt-on gasket?
Bolt-on gaskets sit behind a metal retainer, and the door often needs adjusting afterwards, so a refrigeration technician is the safer choice.
